scrap2VALUE – Circular Economy startup, Founders Bay Batch #9
    Batch #9Circular Economy

    scrap2VALUE

scrap2VALUE brings the circular economy to industry: the startup recovers components from decommissioned machines as tested spare parts and helps companies get more value from metal scrap such as residual sheet skeletons.

    What problem does scrap2VALUE solve?

When industrial plants are decommissioned, working drives, controls and sensors often end up as scrap. At the same time, many companies lose value when disposing of metal waste, for example through poorly sorted material or empty return trips in logistics.

    How does scrap2VALUE work?

scrap2VALUE dismantles old machines, recovers valuable components and sells them in its own shop as a cheaper, more sustainable alternative to new parts, including drives, controls, axis modules and sensors. For metal scrap such as residual sheet skeletons, work starts with a Scrap Check: the team analyses potential, creates a concept and implements it, from return loads instead of empty trips to supplying new material. A transparent material description increases melting yield and cuts CO₂.

    Who is behind scrap2VALUE?

CEO Maximilian Wagner and CTO Dr. Mostafa Biglari each bring more than 15 years of experience in the metal industry, from steel production through plant and machine engineering to recycling. Dr. Biglari holds a PhD in materials science.
