Munich-based dcarbonize makes energy-efficient renovation of residential buildings faster and simpler: with energy consulting including a subsidy service, and the prefabricated Meander façade system for serial renovation.
Website: dcarbonize.deA large share of Germany's CO₂ emissions comes from existing buildings. Conventional renovations take a long time, disrupt residents and often stall on complicated subsidy programmes. dcarbonize wants to make the process more transparent and predictable for homeowners.
The building is planned digitally, façade elements are prefabricated to the millimetre in the factory and installed on site in a few days. The ventilated façade can be individually designed and uses durable, recyclable materials. Serial renovation qualifies for an additional 15% subsidy bonus in Germany, which dcarbonize handles as part of its subsidy service.
Besides the façade, dcarbonize offers energy consulting such as an individual renovation roadmap (iSFP) with cost-benefit analysis, plus specialist planning and construction supervision. The company was founded by Valentin Übelhör (M.Sc. civil engineering), who specialises in energy modelling and building physics; the team consists of engineers and architects.
